Designing your thoughts

Back when I was in college studying architecture the most discussed subject in Project class was how throught sketch and design one could transform an idea into something tangible and thus ‘buildable’.

In ‘Design’ every problem put before us has a myriad of solutions. But those solutions can only be put into practice if and when we decide to present them to the world. Presenting a solution to a problem requires some sort of representation. That can be an audio recording, a written text, a sketch, a cardboard mock-up, etc, but it has to ‘be something’, if not physical, something that can be perceived as such.

In design thinking the more information one wants to convey to present a solution the more weight visual representation gains. Visual representation has the unique ability to almost immediatly convey concepts through symbols.
